Tagbilaran City, Bohol — The Bohol Diocesan Multipurpose Cooperative (BDMPC) successfully conducted a fire drill and fire safety orientation on June 25, 2025, at its Head Office in Tagbilaran City. The activity was held in collaboration with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)–Tagbilaran, headed by City Fire Marshal CINSP Matt Reil C. Pono.
The half-day activity aimed to raise awareness and preparedness among BDMPC employees and members in responding to fire emergencies. It included a comprehensive orientation on fire prevention, the proper use of fire extinguishers, evacuation procedures, and basic first aid during fire incidents.
Following the orientation, the BFP team facilitated a hands-on practicum, where participants demonstrated their understanding of evacuation drills, proper use of fire safety equipment, and emergency coordination. Employees participated actively and showed commendable discipline and cooperation throughout the simulation exercises.
CINSP Pono emphasized the importance of readiness and vigilance in preventing and managing fire-related emergencies, especially in offices with high foot traffic. “Preparedness saves lives. It is vital that every institution has regular drills to ensure the safety of its employees, clients, and stakeholders,” he said during his closing message.
BDMPC Management expressed its gratitude to the BFP-Tagbilaran team for their support and expertise, and reaffirmed its commitment to safety in the workplace. “This fire drill is part of our proactive approach to ensure the security and well-being of everyone within our premises,” a statement from the management said.
